Slope Grass Tutorial in Photoshop by - ryo-hakkai |

1) First, get the sky part finish first. It'll be much easier, trust me.
3) Paint in the base. This will be a little slope so the base is slightly going downwards.
| |
5) Now the fun part. Take the smudge tool and choose the brush I've circled in red. Depends really you can pick the big or small size.
6) Now use that to smudge around the base, since the brush is jagged, the result would look like this.
| |
| |
7) Repeat the same step for several times. Choose from dark green to cream green so it'll look more soft and natural. Just try to get something like this.
| |
8) Nest step, choose the grass brush and brush lightly over the bottom part, so it'll look like grass from the upclose view. Be careful not to overdo it. Extra Note: When doing grass, consider these colors: cream line green, cream green and darkish green (not really dark). Those are the color combo for doing grass.
9) Do more touch-ups like making certain area's in darker shades etc, same thing with the upclose grass.
Fun fact: See the brushy tip of the grass on the slope? Use the same brush to make it look like the tip of the grass . Just smudge carefully on the top part.
10) Okay so I fast fowarded to the final product . this will be how it look like when it's finish. I sprayed lightly with dark green on the grass base each time to make it darker.
You can just add tidbits like flying grass or whatever to make it look nicer. I've added Lacus Clyne here as my test subject. Have fun!
